Renard: Stallions striker is like Gervinho

Zambian coach Herve Renard says he knows very well the threat that Burkina Faso duo Alain Traoré and Jonathan Pitroipa pose

Zambian coach Herve Renard says he knows very well the threat that Burkina Faso duo Alain Traoré and Jonathan Pitroipa pose to his side.

The two teams go head-to-head in an Afcon Group C match at the Mbombela Stadium this evening.

The Stallions head Group C with four points, while Zambia and Nigeria are each on two points.

Defeat or a draw to Burkina Faso would likely see the defending champions crashing out of the tournament, depending on the result of the match between Nigeria and Ethiopia.

Traoré and Pitroipa were outstanding in the 4-0 win over Ethiopia, Pitroipa scoring late on, while Traoré netted two world-class goals.

The first saw him showing a deft touch to control the ball before rifling a volley into the roof of the net, while the second was a screamer from around 30-yards out.

Both players are based in France, Traoré with FC Lorient and Pitroipa with Rennes.

France-born Renard admits both players will be a threat.

"I speak always about these two players, because they are playing on France," said the Zambia boss, "in my home in Zambia I have Canal Satellite and I am watching the French League.

"I went to went to see some games and he (Traoré) was impressing me a lot, he scored some beautiful goals in France so it's not a surprise.

"Pitroipa is a very good player, when he has space it is difficult to stop him, when he has space he is a bit like Gervinho.

"He's high class - he was playing in Bundesliga before so he's not a surprise for me."

Hahahaa…. all I want to see
today at 17:00 GMT is some
teams panting for breath like
a fish out of the sea, with
red eyes, sweat all over their
bodies and running helter-
skelter on the field of play.Oh
my word, I can’t afford to
miss the group C matches
today.From an Objective
point of view I can see
Burkina Faso and Nigeria
through, simply because
Burkina Faso wont sit for
Zambia to run over them
knowing very well that
quarter-final is just a stone
throw.

Leli zayizayi linescefe man!!!

Hey wena, show me yo ID now or you will be deported with the next truck to your home country.

I know you tunnel where you stay in Hillbrow. Now since you're new here, where did you stole that computer. It must be recent though since it still got Internet.

Rather than blogging such nonsense, tell us about your journey to SA, how you crossed that border without being noticed, how you crossed crocodile feasted Zambezi and how did you cross Kruger National Park to get to Jo'burg. You must be a tough illegal immigrant.
