Enyeama up for penalty duty

Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is in consideration for penalty duties

Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is in consideration for penalty duties following John Mikel Obi's miss in the Africa Cup of Nations last game against Zambia.

Despite his unsuccessful attempt from the spot against Burkina Faso, Mikel remains the designated penalty-taker for the team, but a top team official said if he declines the responsibility, Enyeama may be required to step-up.

READ: Mikel misses pen as Nigeria draw

"We all know Vincent's ability at taking and scoring penalties,” said coach Stephen Keshi.

"For now, Mikel remains the first choice. But if he feels that he does not want to take it, Enyeama will do so."

Keshi refused to be drawn on the issue

"Let's get a penalty first, and then we'll see who takes it."

Who said you are going to get a penalty? Or did the punishment meted out to the Egyptian referee by Caf include the awarding of penalty to Nigeria in their next game? Ethiopia better be prepared...they must defend from the centre line, and play offside trap game.

But all this stupid South Africa should go to their own kick off to make comment on their own BANANA BANANA Teams and they should leave us alone or what is their problem with Nigeria self? When we said that South Africa is jealous of Nigeria they will said no, so what you people are doing now to always interupt on Nigeria issues. Anyway we are your father forever. Continue your jealous of us.

Thosw who responds to the South Africans with dirty language are not different from them. There is no war and there wont be. Nigeria is obviously ahead of South Africa when it comes to football so why join issues with them?
lets refrain from dirty, rude, hate and impudence language as it doesnt portend us in good light. For South Africans here, it is important we maintain healthy rivalry if need be. Nigeria and south Africa can never win AFCON at the same time so can never sing the same National Anthem.

Bad idea. If Enyeama misses and our opponents start a counter aattack and score, who will we blame? So of all the players that were selected, Enyeama is our second best penalty taker? smh, it's when Keshi makes statements like this I just want to eject him from the team. And why does Nigeria not have any good freekick takers? Building that will never end.

Even if we make it out the group, if we face Ivory Coast next it is game over for Nigeria.
