Orlando Pirates defender Mbongeni Gumede is likely to be loaned to Jomo Cosmos for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old, who has captained the Under-20 national team, spent his debut professional season on loan at Sivutsa Stars in the First Division during the 2011/12 season and Pirates recalled him for this season, but he has not played.

Meanwhile, another Pirates development product Pentjie Zulu, who was until recently playing for Blackburn Rovers in the First Division, is also set for a move to Cosmos on loan.

Bucs spokesperson Mickey Modisane and his counterpart Lucky Mhlathe couldn’t be reached for comment.

MAMINZELA: let the 2 young lions go and assist one of our legends Bra J who needs our support.

Bra J is loyal Bhakaniya, as well as that other gay Chairman who is love with Chief Thidiela.

how can this boy be a captain of a national team and fail to at least force his way into the bench of PSL team at least....something is very wrong with SA player development....investment in international experience is going to waste

This boy has the same status as George Lebese. Both are 'promising youngsters'.

The only difference is that George Lebese has been a promising youngster for the last 6 years. At Pirates, 16-19 are promising youngsters. At Chiefs promising youngsters are 21-25.

Bra J, we support you all the way. We won't forget how Chiefs robbed you Rusike.

This I not what I want to read... there are easy games coming up like the Derby where I want to see these boys getting game time & establishing themselves...

I can only console myself knowing that they are headed to Jomo... the man can enhance one's talent...

I mean a seasoned defender like Gcaba n Johannes are struggling to break through in the starting line up, what more for our young Yebo Yes lions.

Its good to loan them for game time, especially to one of us, Bra J, this man can nurture talent.

i knew they were going to mess around with mbongeni, just like how they've done to tshepo liphoko and other young hopefuls. now they want to recall nhlakanipho ntuli from fc twente only for de sa to bench him also. hayi maan udoti le club. i've watched mbongeni on national duty with the u20's and i envied pirates for having him on their books i'd wished khosi could snatch him. they only used him to plant trees and feed orphans at an orphanage on mandela day last year and that was it.

i'm waiting for a pirate fan to argue that Roger De Saster is not killing this team. he's got young talent at his disposal yet he just wants to buy anything on 2 legs like a woman on saleday at boxer supermarkets. mxm rats.

@anti zebra....my point is that are teams' business model is based on short term success...i.e. develop players to sell or acquire experienced players.....its very rare for players to go through the ranks of a team until they are matured enough
