Former Free State Stars defender Rudiger Gilbert is trying his luck at Ajax Cape Town.

Gilbert left Stars under a cloud in October last year. In fact, he had allegedly been Awol since April until the two parties agreed to part ways, but now the 26-year-old is hoping for a fresh start with the Urban Warriors.

Ajax are probably the busiest team in the January transfer window. Abia Nale has joined the team on a six-month loan from Kaizer Chiefs, while Rowen Fernandez, Mabhuti Khenyeza and Lance Davids are set to join the Cape side.

A LETTER TO KICK OFF BOARD
Thank you for creating and providing an exclusive site for the pleasure of football fans world over. Kickoff has a unique blog for the posting of individual’s opinions and suggestions pertaining to football. So far, its existence has brought so much information and education about local and international footfall. I have personally learnt a lot from various posts on this forum. I am convinced without reasonable doubt on the genuine intention of so many who desire to be part of kickoff contributors.
While contrary contributions are always welcomed irrespective of the tune or emotion displayed in writing, the abuse of freedom of expression which culminates into curses clearly brings dirty and unhealthy spirit into this wonderful forum.
My humble suggestions toward consolidating this forum for healthy use by matured users are as follows:
1. Devise a means to identify and scrape members who have sufficiently displayed immaturity through the use of offensive and abusive written words (since kickoff may not be able to ascertain given ages while registering potential members).
2. Any scrapped user i.d. should never be readmitted into this forum. A team of your staff, say two or three might take up this as an extra responsibility. Also, certain software can be utilized for this purpose.
3. Delete posts displaying irresponsibility i.e. cursing, or using the “F and S” words which your organization would not be proud to promote to kids; whom you cannot prevent from reading various members comment.
For further details on the possibility of the above, please channel your comprehensive research through www.weddingwire.com. They have a way of deleting abusive and fictitious reviews from their blog less than 6 hours from the time it posts.
If member’s confrontational post that is only intentioned to vex and create imaginary conflicts can be checked or controlled through deleting of same, such members would channel their negative energy elsewhere: thus giving better opportunity for more constructive, creative criticisms and or communication. This has become imperative comparing the diminishing trend of vital contributions to the scary, yet rising trend of irresponsible contributors. If the fundamentals of sport is to entertain, educate, benefit and unite, then this forum as a means of spotting activity can be restructured to avail it's members same gains.
