Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly looking at renewing Method Mwanjali's contract despite the latter fighting a lifetime ban for alleged match-fixing.
Mwanjali has been banned for life for his alleged role in Asiagate, the match-fixing scandal involving players and officials of the Zimbabwe national football team that toured Asia a few years ago.
The defender has paid a $6,000 [R53,000] fee to appeal his ban.
Sundowns, in the meantime, are likely to renew Mwanjali's contract, which expires end of June, despite the uncertainty over his future.
"If they renew, which is likely, they will definitely have a clause stating that if the ban is upheld then the contract will obviously be cancelled," a source tells KickOff.com.
