Ayanda Patosi scored his seventh goal of the Belgian season in helping his Lokeren side to a 6-2 mauling of second-placed OH Leuven as the league resumed this weekend after the winter break.

Patosi was left out of the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations due to fitness concerns, but on a night when the national team battled to score against Cape Verde, he netted again for Lokeren.

The 20-year-old was introduced midway through the second half with the score at 2-2 and inspired his team to four more goals.

There was also a return for Daylon Claasen after six months on the sidelines through injury as Lierse were held 0-0 by Waasland-Beveren.

Claasen is another who missed out on the Nations Cup through injury, but now has the second half of the season to prove that his fitness and win a move to a bigger European league, something that seemed inevitable before he injured his knee last July.

Darren Keet was in goal for Kortrijk as they won 4-0 at home to Germinal Beerschot, a much-needed victory as they seek a place in the top-six this season.

Finally, David Somma was on the bench for English Championship side Leeds United in their 1-0 win over bottom side Bristol City, while former Bafana skipper Steven Pienaar is in action tonight as his Everton side travel to Southampton.

Thats heartbreaking. We actually do have talent. Yeses. With all these boys fit including Jali and Teko, we could have easily won against CV.

The Bafana side should be packed with our overseas based players. The Afcon just shows how dire our local league is. The step up to international football is too much for the useless local players.

Thank you boys for once again making HISTORY. Your game is recorded as the first opening game of AFCON to end in a GOALESS DRAW. MALI and ANGOLA were the first draw in the opening game with the highest draw score of 4-4. What does that mean? They were eager to play and impress on the opening game and did not froze as Gordon told us.

My BP needs monitoring now thanks to you, who knows maybe heart attack will kill me and that would be thanks to you again. Where is the hunger boys, what should be done to motivate you, are you not worthy of making your own history, how come can't you make us feel proud once more.

My hopes for this tournament have diminished from 80% chance to 33%. We will fail in this tournament.
