Khwela joined United from Matsatsantsa at the beginning of the season in the hope of getting more game-time in Cape Town, but has failed to break into the Chilli Boys starting line-up.
Despite attracting interest from Holland, where he spent some months at Feyenoord with Kamohelo Mokotjo a few years ago, the KwaZulu-Natal-born midfielder has not enjoyed much success in the PSL and speculation is rife that he may be headed to the First Division to join Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Chippa United manager Wanda Mbengezani confirms that Khwela is no longer in the club’s plans: “He was here on loan and we have since sent him back to his team SuperSport United.”
