Zimbabwe star Ronald 'Rooney' Chitiyo has started training with Orlando Pirates.

The Monomotapa FC midfielder, named Zimbabwe's third best player in the 2012 Castle Premiership season, was linked to SuperSport United, Bloemfontein Celtic, Chippa United and Ajax Cape Town.

"He left with his business manager Edzai Kasinauyo on the first flight to South Africa this morning [Tuesday]," Monomotapa chairman Joseph Mukoki confirms.

"He is going to Orlando Pirates and they will be assessing him for a week.

"Ajax Cape Town and another club, which I can't name at the moment, have also said they want to have a look at him in the event he fails at Pirates," Mukoki says.

Pirates now have RVP, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Drogda, Fabregas, David Villa, Gattuso , Valdes and ROONEY.
