In an open and frank video interview, Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says his journey to 50 caps was ‘up and down’.

“It wasn’t an easy ride ... I mean it was an up and down journey for me in order to reach the 50,” he says. “You know I got injuries along the way ... but I managed to bounce back in the set-up and retain the number-one spot.”

50 caps, 1 read card and how many clean sheets.

He conceded in all matches in the WC2010, Confed,Afcon qualifiers and now AFCON preparations.

This boy has not performed at national level, stats dont lie.

It was really not easy you have worked to reach that milestone
You have kept discipline and you are an inspiration to many

The ONLY letdown in your career apart from the Hlokoloza dance im Mbombela was that R8m mistake you comitted in FNB otherwise you are good

If we say Khune is the best keeper in Mzansi, then we should be in a possession of explaining why we make those claims.

Is there anyone who want to tell us why Khune is Mzansi number 1, pls note that being a preferred choice does n't make one the best in the country.

Everytime i see this guy all the memories of missing in the 2012 Afcon comes to mind. A conniving, horny son of a bit****h. His time wasting antics and the jika majika hlokoloza thereafter.

Thanks to Minnie Dlamini this sissy will be still a virgin at the age of 36.

Congratulations boy! On a very serious note King lets concede to the fact that had it not been this boy Bafana could have been embarrassed in many games. My hats off to him, always when he don that BB jersey his commitment remains the same to that ugly jersey he dons when representing Zebras, mnx! Up The Bucs!!!!!!

That's what I call a real soccer lover , whether the player is from Chiefs, Pirates,Sundowns or any team ....if he's good , then he''s good finish and klaar.

Some bloggers have soccer brains, and their analyses/judgement is not clouded by our rivals

I don't remember a single official game where Khune kept a clean sheet.

The only thing I remember about him is a fake injury and hlokoloza. He says this wasn't easy but it looked easy to me
