University of Pretoria will be without defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele for the rest of the season after Mamelodi Sundowns requested that the player returns back to Chloorkop before his loan-deal with AmaTuks expires in June.
Mphahlele joined AmaTuks on-loan at the beginning of the season after deemed surplus requirement at Sundowns by former coach Johan Neeskens.
However the Brazilians now want their player back after the arrival of new coach Pitso Mosimane.
In a chat with KickOff.com, AmaTuks coach Steve Barker confirms that Sundowns have made an official approach regarding Mphahlele.
"Sundowns have formally approached us regarding the services of Mphahlele," Barkers tells KickOff.com. “You must remember he is on a one-season-loan but there are one or two conditions that we must finalise before we release him.
"It must be in the interest of everyone involved including the player. In principle we have agreed and probably by Friday the deal would have been finalised," he adds.
Barker also confirms that they have agreed to release striker Diyo Sibisi on a six-month-loan to Mpumalanga Black Aces.
