Maritzburg United have revealed that they have signed Nhlanhla Vilakazi from Ajax Cape Town on a pre-contract for the start of the 2013/14 season.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who played for Golden Arrows and Bay United before moving to Cape Town, will join his new teammates at the beginning of July.

“Nhlanhla is the first signing for coach [Ernst] Middendorp as he looks to strengthen his squad for the new season,” United’s general manager Quintin Jettoo tells the club website.

“The current Ajax Cape Town attacking midfielder is known for his neat passing skills and tracking back when needed and the club is very excited to have secured the player's signature for the next three seasons.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the player and his representatives for their professionalism during the negotiation.”

Nebo, CJB Ramses III and Gogowami. You guys are all correct in your comments, this is a very good player, pity in SA you have to get old before playing for the national team.

I think he's in good hands with Mazinyo Dot Com. I am jealous of this signing because if Pirates was not overloaded already, this would definitely be the player to look at. I wish him well, he must set his eyes on making the starting line-up and then the 2014 flight to Brazil.

I like this player, and yes he passes the ball very well....

I would have welcomed him at the University of football but unfortunately we got IZINJA ZEMPILO in his position...

A gain for MU, Ajax will be fighting relagation as it is now a selling team.

not a good plaeyer if can not command a regular start in a small team like Ajax. OP would have signed him because they like signing bench warmers, remember Ntshumayelo was not a regular at SSU but they signed him.
