The Zimbabwean forward has been suspended by the German Bundesliga club after reporting late for training.
Weinzierl – who has reportedly lost patience with the level of indiscipline among some of his players – also suspended Gambian attacking midfielder Dawda Bah, according to reports from Germany.
German newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine reports that Musona and Bah were suspended for reporting late to training at the team's current base in Turkey where the club is holding a winter break training camp.
Moroccan goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif was slapped with a two-week suspension after he was late for a fitness test.
"Coming to training late is not acceptable. In the first half of the season, the players were fined but now we want to try other measures," Weinzierl tells the newspaper.
FC Augsburg are on the brink of being relegated and the new coach hopes his tough methods will help to turn around the fortunes of the club.
