Phala anxious ahead of Afcon selection

Thuso Phala hoping to get the nod from Gordon Igesund

Platinum Stars midfielder Thuso Phala says it would be “a dream come true” if his name is announced as part of the Bafana Bafana squad that will take part in next month’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The livewire midfielder – who has played a key role in Dikwena’s emergence as a major force this season in the League title chase – featured in Bafana’s last two international matches against Zambia and Malawi.

He hopes that his performances were enough to convince Bafana coach Gordon Igesund to include him in his final Afcon squad, which will be announced tomorrow.

“It would be an honour and a dream come true to be selected for the tournament, so I just need to continue working hard,” Phala is quoted on Stars’ official website. “All players are giving 100 percent at training because they want to be selected.

“All the players are excited at the challenge facing us of making the final team. For me, getting this far and being part of the training camp is an achievement on its own.”

He just does n't deserve to be in the national team, at his youth days, he failed at Chiefs n Sundowns, if u can't cut the grade there, then u just not good enough.

I will pray for his omission.

He's there because of the some lazy psl defenders that makes him look good ,there's nothing special about him, he is as average as they come.Speed alone shouldnt be a prerequisite.Otherwise, congratulations in advance if he made the cut.
