Taarabt, who could miss up to five English Premiership matches if picked for the tournament, scored a brace in Queens Park Ranger’s win over Fulham last weekend, and there are rumours of interest from Barcelona.
But Redknapp says he has “no idea” what his playmaker’s international situation is.
“I think they have to go if they get picked for their country, I haven’t discussed it any more with him,” Redknapp admits.
“Hopefully he doesn’t get picked, we need him here, but I’ve got no idea at the moment.”
Redknapp also poo-pooed the Barca rumours.
“Barcelona want him do they? Maybe they’ll have a swap with Messi,” he laughed.
“We don’t want to sell him, no one has made an offer for him. It’s only speculation.”
Morocco are in Group A with hosts South Africa, Cape Verde and Angola.
