Cruyff, a Barca legend, says Mourinho can't keep living on past glories.
“His negative behaviour will always have its consequences. He thinks that his way of coaching is right and he justifies it by past results, but I believe it is wrong,” the Dutchman told Rac1.
Cruyff also feels that Madrid are now paying the price for not having a proper development system like the Blaugrana have.
“I am not surprised by what is happening at Madrid. This will always happen when your philosophy is to sign and gamble on big signings,” he adds.
“Homegrown players have more than just a contract with the club. They take the club to their heart. Transfers can bring in good players, but never for too long. Clubs need their youth system.”

If this guy is correct can someone please tell me if Real Madrid has not been buying big players long time ago! Didn't Real win the league by 9 point margin last season being coached by the same coach with a negative behavior? Why is he against the Real Madrid's youth system instead of focusing on Barca's? How did Real Madrid became 9 times Europeans Champs? If youth systems are the reason for club's success why is Ajax CT not ruling RSA?

Cruys is not against Real Madrid youth system for a simple reason. Its non existent. Yes Madrid won the league with their Galaxy stars they bought from other teams but we all know that without proper development there is no longetivity and remember all the 9 titles you sre refering to were not won by Maurinho, they were won by different coaches. He has not won any European title with his Galaxy stars that he spent millions on. Has he? When he won the champions league with Porto, he relied on the teams youth development players. When he won with Inter they had players that had with team for a while except for a selected few.
He made Chelsea buy expensive players but he again failed to win the champions league. Whether u like or not development work my friend. You mention Ajax Cape Town with ther youth structure and question their inability to dominate SA, forgeting that Ajax Cape Town is a selling team. They nature and export. To date a former Ajax Cape Town development player is the only SA player to have won the Champions league under Maurinho.
Serero is making a name for himself at Ajax Amsterdam. Teams that are dominating SA football are not renonwed for producing some of the world's top players. Do date which world class player has Orlando Pirates produced? Don't tell me about Fish because he is a product of Jomo Cosmos. Other than Radebe, and perhaps Shoes, which notable player has Chiefs produced, and Sundowns?
A simple fact: Barcelona is the world's best team because of its youth structures. The same can be said about Man United.

Just a point of correction. Lucas Radebe is a product of Bopsol and not Chiefs. Showes is a product of Blackpool and not Chiefs. Just as Fish is a product of Cosmos. These players just became prominent at these big teams.
