Phala's contract with Dikwena is up in June 2013 and the club has not yet approached the player about whether they want to renew his contract.

The midfielder, who has had an excellent season with Stars, was on the wanted list of Orlando Pirates before he renewed his contract last season.
Phala's business manager, Tim Sukazi of Quality Sport Management, confirms that there has been enquiries about his client from various Premiership teams.
"There has been enquiries but nothing official. You must remember that the rule in football is that a player is only allowed to talk to teams when there is six months left on his contract.
"There is still something like 11 days to go, but yes ... so far Platinum Stars have not yet indicated if they will renew his contract," says Sukazi.

my brother, Thuso Phala was part of the swap deal as Josta Dladla had signed a pre-contract with Chiefs: Josta had 6 months to honour at Downs but we saw it being fair that he leaves before his contract expires, as he had shown his interests. We had to negotiate and come to a compromise with Chiefs that's when they informed us (Mamelodi Sundowns) that they have two players that they don't necessary need : Thuso Phala and Siyanda Xulu....so baba don't ever blame Downs for Thuso Phala's downfall (as you put it)....but ke like we know Chiefs is the best team......let's ignore that !!! Downs is responsible...hope you are happy !!!
