There is R1.5 million at stake this weekend with Platinum Stars, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs all vying to win Quarter Two.
Friday:
Maritzburg United vs Orlando Pirates [Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium]
Pirates are unbeaten in their last eight League matches, while it appears the wheels are coming off for the Team of Choice after losing their last two matches. The suspension of Ghanaian international defender Mohammed Awal exacerbate the situation for the KZN side.
Prediction: Pirates win.
Saturday:
Black Leopards vs Free State Stars [Peter Mokaba Stadium]
Leopards have picked up just seven points from a possible 21 in their seven home matches so far this season, while Stars have racked up two wins, two draws and two defeats from their six away matches. It is too close to call.
Prediction: Draw.
Chippa United vs AmaZulu [Phillipi Stadium]
It is 15th vs 16th, but I reckon the Chilli Boys have the edge especially because, for one, they are playing at home in Phillipi.
Prediction: Chippa win.
Kaizer Chiefs vs University of Pretoria [FNB Stadium]
Amakhosi have two of the League’s top scorers in their ranks – Lehlohonolo Majoro and Bernard Parker – who are both on eight goals. Tuks, on the other hand, have been forced to reshuffle their defence quite a bit in at least the last three matches. Are they ready for Majoro and Parker? I don’t think so.
Prediction: Chiefs win.
SuperSport United vs Platinum Stars [Lucas Moripe Stadium]
Stars have been inconsistent away from home this season with three wins, one draw and three losses from seven matches. But then again SuperSport United have recorded just one win from their seven home matches this season, with five of them ending in draws. Another match that could be closely contested.
Prediction: Draw.
Bidvest Wits vs Mamelodi Sundowns [Bidvest Stadium]
Sundowns are finding their feet under Pitso Mosimane and Wits have failed to win in their last five League matches.
Prediction: Sundowns win.
Sunday:
Golden Arrows vs Ajax Cape Town [King Zwelithini Stadium]
Ajax picked up a second win from their last three league matches when they defeated Maritzburg United 1-0 at home. Nonetheless, I still feel Arrows are getting better now that Manqoba Mngqithi has returned to the club.
Prediction: Arrows win.
Bloemfontein Celtic vs Moroka Swallows [Botshabelo Stadium]
Swallows are on the ropes having failed to win any of their last seven League matches and playing Celtic in their own backyard – many PSL teams can attest to this - is never easy.
Prediction: Celtic win.
