Match Preview: Maritzburg vs Pirates

Maritzburg United vs Orlando Pirates Match Preview

Posted: 14 December 2012 Time: 10:44 am

Maritzburg United will look to end their losing streak in the PSL when they host Orlando Pirates at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium tonight.

Maritzburg have suffered back-to-back defeats in their last two League matches, going down 1-0 both at home to Platinum Stars and away to Ajax Cape Town.

The KwaZulu-Natal club will be looking to improve on a home record which has seen them win just two of seven matches so far this season. However, they still sit pretty in fourth place with 23 points from 14 matches.

Pirates, on the other hand, extended their unbeaten run to eight games – but played to a second successive draw – when they and Derby rivals Kaizer Chiefs drew 1-1.

The Soweto giants have a fine away record this season, with four victories and just one defeat from seven matches. Bucs are placed second on the log with 28 points from 14 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Maritzburg and Pirates have met in 12 League matches since 2005/06.

Bucs have seven wins compared to three for the Team of Choice, while just two matches have been drawn.

The record is dead even between the teams when it comes to home matches for Maritzburg: each has three wins, each has scored eight goals.

Last season United won their home match 2-1, but the return game in Soweto was edged 1-0 by Bucs.

If they can lose against a Platinum Stars we beat 2-0 and they hammered a useless Zebra 2-0, and a confused Ajax team that we hammered 3-0 and they gifted a useless Zebra 3 own goals, how can they dream of beating the black mean machine that was just robbed recently.

It does not matter, because it does not affect me as a Khosi supporter. They all fighting to go up and it is difficult.

It is so nice to be on top, everyone have their neck tired and sore, looking up all the time and the limit of climbing is 3 points below, the minute you show you want to force, Khosi just accelerate and alredy, this is a record, starting and finishing half way on top. UNSTOPABLE TSUNAMI.

No red lips aka Maybeline nor Brown Envelope aka Phil Setshedi shall help this weak team this season. Golden Arrows will not be of help either, handing them wins every season. This season no goal difference shall decide this league we are taking it with 9 points, with 2 games to play.

Do i have to say anything more??????????? Also remember that 1 of their win was that Black & Gold enveloped scandal where Bennie was red carded for tormenting the diffenders, causing them all sorts of trouble.

It is going to take more that Referees to stop us from winning the league AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN

We are stretching this to our usual 17+ run of unbeaten records. We have to go the break being where we belong, that is on top not inside.

We @ The Bucks Family are on a mission to collect 6 points before Chrismas break, and we will surely come up victorious.
@ Nelson Mandela we will have about 95% support behind our boys, which will surely be the 12th man, not a referee as a 12th man as the guys next door.
