Myeni: I need to do better

Sifiso Myeni says he must perform better in Orlando Pirates match against Maritzburg United

Posted: 12 December 2012 Time: 08:35 am

Sifiso Myeni has admitted he needs to perform better than he did in the Soweto Derby in Orlando Pirates' remaining League matches this year.

The Buccaneers travel to Maritzburg for a fixture against the Team of Choice on Friday, and Myeni says the match is vital as Pirates attempt to close the gap on Chiefs ahead of the second half of the season.

“We have forgotten about the draw against Chiefs,” he tells OPFC.com. “It is back to business for us as we prepare for the match against Maritzburg. They are a tough side and I think we will need to be at our best to defeat them.

“We are desperate to win this match so that we can continue closing the gap at the top. The second round will be a sprint for all 16 teams in the Premier Soccer League, so we cannot afford to let these three points pass us.

“I personally have told myself that I have to do better in this match – I am not under any pressure but I feel I can contribute a lot better than I did last weekend in the Derby,” he says.

The Pirates and Maritzburg United match is at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, kick-off at 8pm.

HAVE YOUR SAY: How do you rate Myeni's performance in the Derby?

Yes sure you could have done better.Get more involved and start creating chances for others to score and your goals will come. Ask the coach the coach to play you more on the left than on the right.

The present and the future SA dribbling wizard has spoken, the second round will be a sprint, but I think others who have started with full sprint in this marathon won't last long.

As long as there is room for improvement my boy, use it.

Hard luck Maritzburg, try next door.

Up The Bucks !!!

Everyone knows who you are and what you can offer Nsunda. @ Pirates is not about an individual, it is all about contributing to a team effort. We were robbed as a team and we will have to move forward as a team.

Ace took Mashiakgomo to the cleaners with that Dihno esque dummy, infact he took the whole Chimpanzee team the Maradona style, it was unfortunate Klate lifted his shot instead of doing the normal thing of putting the ball between that ######'s legs. We know she always open the legs like Jessica when she is on her underground operations.
