The Buccaneers travel to Maritzburg for a fixture against the Team of Choice on Friday, and Myeni says the match is vital as Pirates attempt to close the gap on Chiefs ahead of the second half of the season.
“We have forgotten about the draw against Chiefs,” he tells OPFC.com. “It is back to business for us as we prepare for the match against Maritzburg. They are a tough side and I think we will need to be at our best to defeat them.
“We are desperate to win this match so that we can continue closing the gap at the top. The second round will be a sprint for all 16 teams in the Premier Soccer League, so we cannot afford to let these three points pass us.
“I personally have told myself that I have to do better in this match – I am not under any pressure but I feel I can contribute a lot better than I did last weekend in the Derby,” he says.
The Pirates and Maritzburg United match is at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, kick-off at 8pm.
