No prize for top Cup scorer Ngwenya

AmaZulu striker Dumisani Ngwenya has expressed sadness at learning that he won’t be pocketing R10 0000 for finishing top scorer in the Nedbank Cup.

PSL spokesperson Altaaf Kazi has told KickOff.com that it is not true that there is an award for being top scorer in the Nedbank Cup.

"This is heartbreaking because I already budgeted for that money and now this"

Your money was given to Teko Modise. So was the money for most balanced team and supporters awards. This to make sure the Footballer of the season gets more money than everyone else. It is all Irvin Khoza's work.

Wht cant you guys give credit where it is Due. Khoza has transformed the PSL single Hand, to be the best League in terms of money, He change the leagues name from NSL to PSL. why all the negativity always thrown to khoza.

anyway Gwenya Go and join Pirartes, you will graduate and become the league TOP marksmen.

Khoza did very little to transform the PSL. Trevor Phillips transformed our league, alone, and He left and people like bo Khoza took us back to where we were b4, and He(Trevor) was called to rescue us once more. Khoza might be able to make Teko footballer of the year, but He still is not God by no means.

Good commetn man, sis vele! sis!!! the man toils so hard all teh games and one Palooka just scores a lucky goal and lands R50 000.00. Man, this is all hogwash, chicken manure. Its all rotten, stating with the PSl up to selectors. i dotn blame the electing coaches since they were tasked and we will never ever know whom they elected since we cant see the results.what a free and fair election that was. Its nominations i know but what is the difference?
PSL is just like SAFA, headless chicken lead by a ruthless and clever tyrant. those guys have gut no *****.

A prize money for a top goal scorer who does not score 18 goals and the topgoal scorer who score 18+. but as always, they haev to elarn from their mistakes, pity those mistakes always leave casualties.

Wasn't it the SAFA/PSL and even government admninistrators who asked Khoza to continue at SAFA/PSL? You'll remember the time when Khoza cried like a baby saying he was resigning his positions because of being "scapegoated" (I assume by the likes of Kaizer and Oliphant - the other powers at SAFA/PSL). Anyway, I also don't understand ABSA's reasoning for awarding the "most beautiful goal" R50 000 while putting a perfomance based R40 000 for the leading goalscorer. The fact that they didn't announce at the very beginning that their leading goalscorer's amount was meant for people who scored at least 15 goals in the league leave a sour taste. By the way Gaxa scored more than one goal this past season... and not one as you allege.

It's not R40 000, It's R14 000 that Chamanga got, that is R1 000 for every goal scored.
As for Gaxa who cares how many lucky goals he scored, Chamanga's work rate in front of goals was way over his...finish & klaar!

Mind you, kaizer is the workaholic of the PSl and he never takes the spotlight. The results are there to be checked. Khoza will always take the brunt because of his position/s and the fact that he is always protecting the likes of Olifant and the stupid CEO. Now, when fumbles like this happens, we really mean the PSl even though we mention Khoza as he is the most frontal(oops!) fronted of the PSL, and SAFA too.

I am sorry broe for not getting it.You worked very hard and deserved it.Everybody were suprised.If OUR PSL CEO Kjetil Siem didn't know dat the PSL leading scorer with get less than R50 000 if he fails to score 15 goals,how do you expect Ngwenya knows dat he can't R10 000 for Nedbank Top Goal Scorer.Gaxa has received R50 000 for the goal of the season yet Chamanga received R1000 per goal he scored.This people who are running our premier league are clueless & useless.Two x footballer of the year in one league,not anywhere in South America & Europe only in SA.Only one Bull in the kraal.During PSL award Mr Khoza compared our league & England.Like comparing the Cat and Lion.

Dr khoza is amazing,he is capable right, and also selfish, he does not believe in other peepz, or he is greedy, taking jobs from SAFA, world cup committe, psl, pirates, and god knows where, that is why we all need to support or work for pirates to get recognitions...Teko was not all out, last yr(half season) he was good, come afcon, he was dead. we even wanted him out in favour of pienaar..guyz..this is a mess...pirates neva won anything, instead they fighting relegation...what happened to reasonable excuses to give an award to any 1...yeah he scored 3/4 free kicks so what...psl committe is corrupt...

Dikotsi my boy, About the awards. First of all people had high expectations because, there is no more a big team. In life Dikotsi my boy, Expect nothing you won't be disappointed.

According to you, were was Pelembe when Supersport was fighting in the relagation in the first round? do you really think Pelembe deserve this award after blossoming in the second round. I don't have an idea about him representing his country.

According to you, were was Teko when Pirates was fighting in the relegation zone in the first round? do you really think Teko deserve it after not missing a game for his club and country.

For you, who played the most football the past season and did not miss a game whether for his club or country? i think that's the footballer not the player.

eezee: I know that Chamnga got a pitiful R14 000... apparently because he didn't score the minimum required number of goals (15 in total). Had he scored at least 15 goals he would have got R40 000. So I'm saying I don't understand that kind of thinking. Even if Chamanga had scored the minimum required number of goals he would still have been R10 000 poorer than Gaxa.

This is f@#king robbery, when the cup was anounced they said there was a prize for the top goalscorer, after the 2nd game amazulu won 5 -0 everyone even the media said ngwenya wld pocket it because he had scored his 7th goal in the tournerment now this? I think he must sue psl, he cn get da old newspapers as his evidence
