AmaZulu striker Dumisani Ngwenya has expressed sadness at learning that he won’t be pocketing R10 0000 for finishing top scorer in the Nedbank Cup.
PSL spokesperson Altaaf Kazi has told KickOff.com that it is not true that there is an award for being top scorer in the Nedbank Cup.
"This is heartbreaking because I already budgeted for that money and now this"

“We were surprised when we read that there is prize money for the top goal scorer in one of the newspapers. That was misleading,” said Kazi.
Ngwenya, who scored eight goals, said: “I am disappointed. I was under the impression that my efforts were going to be rewarded.
“The news that I would be getting a prize was delivered to me by club officials. This is heartbreaking because I already budgeted for that money and now this. I guess I will just have to live with it.”
Usuthu manager James Dhlamini sympathised with the player, saying there was nothing they could do as the PSL was adamant that there was no prize money allocated to the top scorer.
“We even wrote a letter to Ronnie Schlosss seeking clarity on this matter,” said Dhlamini.
