Erasmus returning to Holland

Posted: 28 May 2008 Time: 09:41

After successful spell with Supersport United, national Under-20 star, Kermit Erasmus is now geared for his return to Europe where he will resume his soccer career at Feyenoord in Holland.

Erasmus spent the past season with United following a loan move from the Dutch team.

The Port Elizabeth-born striker confirmed to KickOff.com that he will be flying to Holland during the first week of July with great memories of winning the Premiership title with Matsatsantsa.

_quote “It has been my best season in South Africa. Winning League title with Supersport United was not only a big achievement for me but I am also proud that I was part of history- making in giving Supersport their first League title.

“I have enjoyed every opportunity that the coach gave me, but I will always cherish the match against Kaizer Chiefs. Ever since being given a chance in that starting line up, I have gained in confidence and that has also improved my overall performance.”

“It was a good move, coming back to South Africa and hopefully the experience I gained last season will be put to good use in Holland.

“Feyenoord have been following my progress here in South Africa and now they know what I am capable of doing if given a chance to play,” says Erasmus.

THIS IS BENNI SAGA: SIES MAN!
THIS GUY MUST GO...................

Benni McCarthy on Tuesday broke his silence over his unavailability for Bafana Bafana's match against Nigeria this week, reasoning that his family comes ahead of the country's crucial African Nations Cup qualifier, set for Abuja on Sunday.

In an interview with broadcaster etv last night, McCarthy, who posed for cameras with his young daughter, said it would be irresponsible of him to "drop her (his daughter) off at my family house and buzz off to the national team".

That, McCarthy claimed, would not be good parenting. "She's not used to my family. I consider myself a good parent, and I can't just drop her off here and buzz off to the national team," the unrepentant Blackburn Rovers striker said.
