The NFF recently revealed that although it has started doing the paper work needed to make the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder eligible to play for Nigeria, it will not be possible for the whole process to be completed before the Nations Cup.
Keshi is however mounting pressure on the NFF, urging them not to give up on the possibility of getting the player eligible to play for Nigeria soon enough.
"There is no way we can give up on the player. The NFF should be pushing hard because we have the World Cup qualifiers after the Africa Cup of Nations and he could be very useful in the team for the qualifiers to the Nations Cup," he said.
"I have watched Sam he’s a very good player and he will add quality to the team." Keshi said.

Nigeria Golden Eaglets braved all the odds to qualify for next year’s African Junior Championship after a superb 2-0 win in Mali on Sunday.
The Eaglets thus qualified for the final tournament in Morocco in April on a 4-0 aggregate.
Highly-rated striker Isaac Success opened scoring for the visiting Nigerians against their more physically imposing Malian opponents in Bamako in the first half, before Bernard Bulbwa made the game safe in the second half.
Despite the burning heat in Mali and very harsh officiating the Eaglets held out to qualify for Morocco 2013 in fine style.
The Eaglets scored a first goal which was disallowed but after the game even the local fans came out to celebrate with them.
They scored a staggering 21 goals and conceded only a goal in matches against Niger, Guinea and Mali to make it to the eight-nation tournament in Morocco next year.
The three-time world champions have failed to qualify for the last two editions of the African Junior championships.
While some might think this idea would discourage our foreign players from swapping allegiance, they must realize that a lot of our foreign based players hope to future in the Super Eagles team, being increasingly aware that they may eventually be used and dumped by these foreign countries. The advantage to us is that we would have abundant choice of players at our disposal. This would further keep every single player on their toe when eventually invited.
Question is why won't the NFF think of short and long team plans? Will the monetary value/expense of practicalize this be commensurate to the risk of abandoning our best players? In overall, what do we lose by giving this a trial?

We need to keep winning, cos success attracts everybody. They will come home to us, iF we have our house in order. Slyman
This is very true of immensely gifted players such as Rabiu Ibrahim. Thats what Westerhof did with you when it was obvious that your career was winding down. Yekini benefited from that too when things were not looking good for him at Olympiacos. Rabiu Ibrahim deserves this. The fact that he is in a big team such as Celtics, albeit on the bench, is a testament to the football pedigree that he possesses. Please, lets help this guy. He is the closest we have to making another Jay Jay Okocha.
Thank You.

@Futbol Aficionado, please before you make any remarks, try and do a little research through google on the facts. The link I posted above is the most recent news on Rabiu Ibrahim who was allowed to play 90 minutes against Scottish division 2 Abroath in the Scottish Cup last weekend and he disappointed.
The fact is, unlike most African countries, we have a lot of players who are playing regularly at their clubs. We also have a few young players like Onazi of Lazio who get games every 10- 14 days. But Rabius form continues to drop. So why do we need to to change the Super Eagles to rehab Eagles. Look at our good options right now
Defensive Midfield: Mikel, Obiora @ Padova, Reuben @ Pillars
Box to Box: Obi @ Inter, Lukman @ Dynamo Kiev, Lawal @ Dermispor, Turkey
Attacking Midfield: Igiebor @ Bêtis, Onazi@ Lazio, Aluko @ Hull
Also would like to add my only worry now is when the Super Eagles foreign based players are scheduled to join up with the crew for the Afcon prep. It has been reported that, the European based will start arriving camp on the 4th of January. Zambia is in Saudi Arabia preparing and they have a more blended team already. Why NFF?
Ukraine league is on winter break till March 1! NFF please check the European league time tables.
Almost all the major leagues are on holiday before Christmas, so why not ask the Euro based to fly out to Faro, Portugal with the rest of the crew on December 27. We can have over 20 professionals blending together till the English based can join them. Only the English League is in action through the holidays and according to Fifa they must release all their players to Afcon participants by 12 noon January 4, 2013.
