As predicted by KickOff.com this morning, Roger Palmgren has been sacked as coach of AmaZulu.
Usuthu are rooted to the bottom of the log after 12 League matches, and the situation was further exacerbated by the 1-0 loss to Free State Stars at Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend
A face-saving draw against Mamelodi Sundowns a week ago gave some hope, but after the defeat on Saturday night, AmaZulu management have lost faith with the Swede, who took over the reins from Manqoba Mngqithi in 2011.
Usuthu General Manager Peter O’Connor has confirmed the changes at the Durban club.
“We met with the coach this morning and advised him that his services have been terminated with immediate effect and informed the players and the technical team of what has happened,” Usuthu General Manager Peter O’Connor says.
“Fani Madida will be caretaker coach until we have announced the new coach which will hopefully be will soon.”
Palmgren joins the likes of Maarten Stekelenberg (Ajax Cape Town), Roger Sikhakane and Mngqithi (both Chippa United), Muhsin Ertugral (Golden Arrows), Augusto Palacios (Orlando Pirates) and Roger de Sa (Bidvest Wits) who have been relieved from their posts this season.
