With four matches to go in the second Q-Innovation quarter, Orlando Pirates are top of the Q2 log, ahead of Kaizer Chiefs.
After last night's matches many Amakhosi fans were mistakenly under the impression their team was top, however Bucs are above them on goal-difference.
Of course Chiefs are on top of the Premiership table as a whole; with 27 points they lead Pirates by four.
The PSL announced Q-Innovation in August; a mini-league which divides the season into four. The team on top of the log at the end of each quarter will receive R1.5-million, over and above the R10-million for the overall winner.
Q1 had eight fixtures; Q2 will be seven; Q3 eight and Q4 seven.
Chiefs won the first quarter of Q-Innovation at the beginning of November, when they topped the log ahead of University of Pretoria in second and Pirates in third.
As the Q2 table stands, the Bucanneers are top, tied on nine points with Amakhosi, with both teams registering three wins out of three.
Q2 table so far:
|Free State Stars||3||1||1||1||2||2||0||4|
|University of Pretoria||3||0||2||1||1||2||-1||2|
|Ajax Cape Town||3||0||1||2||1||3||-2||1|
