Free State Stars and University of Pretoria draw 0-0 in their League clash at Charles Mopeli Stadium on Wednesday.
Despite both sides having their fair share of chances on goal in the 90 minutes, neither team could capitalise in front of goal which sees AmaTuks remain in fifth place on the League table while Stars sit in ninth spot.
The home side started the better of the two sides and created a chance on goal as early as the third minute, but Angelo Kerspuy wasted the opportunity as he fired wide from just outside the box.
Three minutes later and it was his compatriot, Jessie Jackson, who tried his luck, but his long range effort lacked power and was comfortably saved by Washington Arubi.
The best chance of the opening half fell to Stars’ Moeketsi Mvula in the 27th minute, but he headed over the bar from roughly six-yards out after out jumping his marker to get to the ball.
Five minutes later and Tsietsi Mkwanazi was unlucky not to give the Ea Lla Koto the lead when he was superbly denied by the AmaTuks keeper, Arubi using his feet to stop a stinging 18-yard shot.
The second 45 saw the away side playing the better football and only the frame of the goal denied them from going in front in the 52nd minute.
Lionel Mutizwa let loose with a 25-yard thunderbolt that had the keeper beat but struck the woodwork and bounced away from danger.
The next real chance on goal only came half an hour later when Dumisani Ngwenya met a right wing cross with a powerful header, but he saw his close range effort go wide.
After that the game fell into a little bit of a lull and the next chance on goal only came in the 82nd minute when AmaTuks’ second half substitute, Dumisani Ngwenya, was on the end of a cross from the right but his header went wide of the target.
A minute later Ayanda Lubelo pulled the best out of the Stars keeper, Tshepo Motsoeneng parrying a stinging 20-yard shot from the AmaTuks attacker away from goal to see the match end in a stalemate.
