Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens: All is not lost

Posted: 15 November 2012 Time: 02:16 pm

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens says the Telkom Knockout is a good opportunity for his charges to salvage their season.

Sundowns are currently bottom of the log and the League title seems out of reach now, but they will switch their focus to the Telkom Knockout when they take on neighbours SuperSport United on Saturday in the semi-finals.

Neeskens says: "Things are not going too good for us in the League and there are things to be improved, but we still have a chance to win something and that is the Telkom Knockout.

"We have a big opportunity now because we are in the last four of the competition. We should go for it and try to be in the final. It is a nice challenge and we will give it our all," he says.

The Dutchman further says he expects an interesting Tshwane Derby clash.

"They know us very well and we know them very well, so there will be no surprises, but it will be an interesting game and may the best team win on the day," Neeskens adds.

Good coach. i like your thinking. there are things to improve, what about there things to be established first. Play two strikers, Bench Nyandoro and langerman.

Honestly speaking as a Khosi supporter, i wish Masandawana can turn things around and start getting results. It's sad to see the team from the east of capital city struggling like this. Good luck Masandawana,

Ppl our league is not as easy as we make it out to be , the reason am saying this is that every one at sundowns thinks sundowns wil never be relagated , that's y they are relaxed and relying on their name to save them , they might reach the final after all its south african football tradition that relagation bound teams do reach the final , but let me tell all sandawana fans all 16 teams in the Psl fyt to survive then if they do challenge for honours it will be a bonus. That's y big teams go 10 games unbeaten. The more games a teams win the lesser th chances of loosing, the greater the chance of surviving hence winning the title

Mamelodi Sundowns last season yes you could say the players didn't care about winning: but this season especially the last three games: the boyz have been committed and showed such kinda dedication: personally I think we have to be flexible with the systems and tactical approach: that's where our coach has let us down, cos this ball possesion but not scoring goals started last season: before we start the second round....our players really if you look at our games, they give their all: but ke as we are still on the TKO...anything is possible: if we could grap this Cup then we will be better than Chiefs and Pirates, combined....lezikhulumi have zilch....abana niks and I feel Sorry for Chiefs if they don't take the Premiership: hhhmmmm last on the log but we are in the Semi Finals: a win takes us to the Finals...believe that?

It is 10 game later and all of you are still saying the same thing...well I know it is going to be a tough season I have been saying that since day one hence the theme "KUZONYIWA THIS SEASON"...

We are not relaxing at the top...we are fighting each and every game and I think we need to commended for that......We are playing every game like it is a cup final....we are not taking any team for granted....

We have the players this season.players who are ready to compete...we have depth.

Swallows is our next worry and the boys are getting ready to fight for the 3 points.....

Our record so far......P10 W7 L0 D3 GF21 GA5 GD16 P24..

This league title must be delivered to Naturena come May 2013.
