Zambia star midfielder Rainford Kalaba is apparently set to meet Orlando Pirates officials over a possible contract.

Kalaba is in town for the Nelson Mandela Challenge and according to those in the know, he may use the opportunity to discuss a deal with Pirates.

The 26-year-old is currently contracted to Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe, but it is not known yet when his contract is due to expire.

Kalaba was previously linked to Mamelodi Sundowns but a deal didn’t materialise.

Here comes the second star. We don't depend on the tortoises for success, we buy quality to complement our ambitions. In the Iron Duke we trust.

Just imagine Kalaba, Sox, Myessi, Klate against Cow Gaxa, Racholina, Katsekatse, MlumowaChimpanzee,..hheheheh i FOURsee Mbombela killings here.

This is not ON......if they sign this Palooka what about all this other midfielders that they signed from FSS,Roses united,Garankuwa united and Amatuks......this is not fair really. I did not know that being second to Chiefs will cause sleepless nights to the colonel

As much as it pains me to admit, it's clear that ko AFCON only Josephs and Sangweni and maybe Myeni will be called up. I see signing this guy as strengthening the team for when we take on Africa. So seeing that he'll be playing AFCON, the rest of the Pirates squad must travel and go have a "pre season" in Africa. Egyptian teams for one haven't been playing football and it would be great conditioning if we could go travel to places like Sudan and get game after game. But I'm afraid that will never happen and given that our current team does not have the talent we had under Papic, our dream to conquer Africa and get a treble this season might remain just that: a dream! If you don't have the talent, then you must rely on conditioning!
