Serero boost for Bafana

Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Thulani Serero has returned to training

Posted: 13 November 2012 Time: 11:23 am

Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Thulani Serero has returned to training with the Dutch club which keeps the door open for him to return to the Bafana Bafana squad ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Serero sustained a groin injury in a League match against ADO Den Haag in September and there was doubt he would make the Afcon squad.

However, there is a glimmer of hope now.

"I will have to go see how he is doing, but he is back at training… It is not heavy training, though," Bafana coach Gordon Igesund confirms.

"I mentioned Serero, but I could have mentioned six or seven more names; there is Serero, Morgan Gould, Davide Somma, Daylon Claasen, Benni McCarthy, Katlego Mphela… there are so many. Some of these players are just coming back from injury," he says.

However, Igesund has cautioned that no-one is guaranteed a place in his team.

"They've got to now start playing for their teams and on top of that, they must start playing well to be considered. So I have to keep monitoring these players," he adds.

Will Gordon pass the AFCON group stages with his chiefs average players, supported by Chiefs dogs.

Will Gordon qualify for Brasil 2014 with these Chiefs average players

answer is a BIG NO, So GI has failed before he can even start.

Chiefs fans can be proud again for failing the nation with their average coach, please GI leave Myeni n matlaba out of your biased squad.

Its a fact that Chiefs is widely supported by a lot of single woman who then force their children to support Chiefs because of the hate they have for the fathers who left them after a night stand in a toilet.

No wonder they behave like this, their chairman Kaizer snr also did the same to Bobby's mom.

People talk sh*t about GI and the Bafana he has inherited but fail to realise that 3/4 of the main Bafana squad is out injured. What GI has done with a ragtag bunch of losers so far is incredible. GI has had to create a competitive Bafana squad without Serero, Claasen, Pienaar, Mphela, Somma, Gaxa, Ngconga, Masilela and for the most part Dikgacoi. If GI gets half of these guys back, Bafana will do well in the AFCON.

People need to stop the negative stuff against GI. We have tried internationally recognized coaches and some good local coaches. Now give GI a chance to show his stuff. Poland gave England a horrible time a few days after they beat Bafana. Actually England were luck to get a draw. A full Brazil squad struggled against Bafana also. GI can deliver but he needs that injury list to clear up first.

Mosixty: what has Serero achieved in his career in terms of accolades, playing abroad is easy as long as u have a smart agent. He might be a good player but he is struggling to even break into the starting eleven in a youthfull team of Ajax.

In the case of Jali, Mike Makaap did mention that Jali is not ready to go abroad but there a number of teams desperate for his signature.

If there is someone who believe BB will win the AFCON under GI, that person need to be examined seriously.

If there is no one who believes, then why did we bother with White messiah, we all know he wont make it to Brasil 2014.

Serero must give Shabba tips on how to win trials in Europe... Shabba has been trialing ever since... but he has so far failed to secure a move abroad not even to a Championship struggling side called Forest... Shabba must recall his right leg from retirement and maybe he can stand a chance... I don't even want to mention Yeye, because the 2 players are just a many light-years apart... it is only fair to compare oranges, grape fruits, naartjies, limes and lemons amongst each other... FACT: watching Porn is better than watching Bafana Bafana

Gordon is doing well in the flight trips but the opposite in the field of play.

FACT: Gordon is having sex with mothers of all the players he is calling for the national team, this is why there is no Pirates players in the team.

Yawwwning at these Bafunny articles...Pitso killed my "zeal" to watch Bafunny. Gordon burried it by calling up a bunch of under achievers. The face of Bafunny has not changed from the team that made history by being the first host team that failed to qualify for the 2nd round of the world cup. Failed to qualify for Afcon in front of its home crowd...We are in the history books for the wrong reasons.
