Bafana avoid big guns in Afcon

South Africa will in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations group stage avoid the reigning champions Zambia

Posted: 15 October 2012 Time: 02:55 pm

South Africa will avoid the reigning champions Zambia and two more African giants – Ivory Coast and Ghana in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations group stage, but the likes of Nigeria lie in wait.

As host nation South Africa automatically go into Pot 1 among the top seeds and they are joined by Chipolopolo, the Black Stars and the Elephants.

The tournament takes place in South Africa between January 19 and February 10 next year.

Afcon 2013 seedings:

Pot one: South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Ivory Coast
Pot two: Mali, Tunisia, Angola, Nigeria
Pot three: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Niger
Pot four: Togo, Cape Verde Islands, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia

Note: The four groups will consist of one team from each pot with top two finishers qualifying for the quarterfinals

Seeding Formula:
- Points awarded for performances in previous three Cup of Nations tournaments with seven for winners, five for runners-up, three for semifinalists, two for quarterfinalists, and one for teams eliminated after first round

- Points from the most recent tournament are multiplied by three, from the middle tournament by two, and from the oldest by one.

That's how low our national team has gone down under; being happy to avoid other big guns! Whatever happended to us not fearing Ghana and beating them (even in their own backyard in Afcon 200) and not fearing them? Mncim.

Yes, we're still very much in a learning process. *Learning to be backward Dyslexic thinkers like Chimps playas who're infested in our team along with their Monkey-Falls fans*

We can't keep on avoiding the big guns. To be the best, U must beat the best. Nigeria is only the name. Look @ Cameroon. It was never respected.I still believe that we were done favour by the fact that we are the host nation. If it was not because of that, I don't know. Come next year, I am saying, we are not going to see the last eight. I know people will say I am a dreamer.

We must also read the rule propeerly, so that what happened in the last AFCON should Not repeat itself.

To be a South African is a joke nowadays.

With Gordon and his Chiefs comrades the nation is in for a Mbombela scandal.

Just like Selina failing to pass the security guard, i don't see Bachimp Bachimp passing the group stages.

Why did BB win 1996 ANC? Answer: President Solomon Stix Morewa...below are the facts:

1. Four Nations Cup was played regularly with proper team like Cote d'vore, Zambia (Bwalya Brothers, elijah Letana, Witson Nyirenda), Ghana (Frank Amankwa, Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele), Egypt, Cameroon, Zimbabwe.

2. Oversea Oppositions included, Germany (New JHB stadium), Argentine, Brazil, Mexico, England,

3. Principles were right, If a team has got three or more players in the national therefore their game will be postponed.

Today we keep playing aboKenya, Lesotho (No disrespect), Botswana. when we play overseas oppositions we play aboIceland, Poland and Guatamala. I would rather have south africa beaten heavily by the superpowers than loose against an unknown like Poland (Cos some cow in the SAFA' Ivory Tower called Kirsten and his predecessor called Molefe trying to save money for themselves).

All Hail Stix RIP

This Phefeni Boy protege will sing the following tune when Bafoony wins one of their games, "Bafana Chiefs won!" But when we lose dismally, which is the inevitable, he will sing, "We lost as a nation."

Voetsek maan!!!!!! This boys are a disgrace!
