Super Eagles midfielder Obi has assured fans that Nigeria will comprehensively overcome Liberia in their upcoming Nations Cup qualifying match on Saturday.
The Chelsea midfielder who arrived at the Super Eagles camp on Wednesday told newsmen that he was confident Nigeria will 'beat Liberia silly'.
While citing that he was not in any way looking down on his opponents, he stressed that the team spirit among the players currently in the Super Eagles camp was high and that coupled with their determination to ensure that Nigeria qualifies for next years' continental showpiece; the Lones Stars stand no chance of creating an upset in the game.
"I am here for the game and I am ready to do battle against Liberia. I am in good shape and form now; I will do my best to see that we beat Liberia. It is a battle we have to win, we know what is at stake and we are not taking it easy with them," he concluded.
Vincent Enyeama who will stand in as captain in the absence of injured skipper Joseph Yobo however adopted a more cautionary measure by warning his teammates not expect to stroll past their opponents easily.
"The Liberians have a good squad and they will fight with the last drop of their blood on Saturday. We will also fight until we get our objective that is the game of football," Enyeama said.
He further urged Nigerians to continue give their support to the National team through prayers.
Nigeria are desperate to qualify for the Nations Cup having failed to appear in last years' edition of the tournament. Nigeria held Liberia to a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Monrovia, and will be hoping to see off their opponents in Calabar this weekend.
