Comeback kid Joel Obi returned with a goal for Inter Milan on Thursday

Comeback kid Joel Obi returned with a goal for Inter Milan in their 3-1 win over Neftci PFK on Thursday in the Europa League.

The Nigerian international midfielder who recovered from a lengthy injury started the Europa League game, having previously sat on the bench for Inter Milan's last two matches against Chievo Verona and Fiorentina respectively in the Serie A.

Joel Obi's 30th minute goal was sandwiched between goals from Philippe Coutinho and Marko Livaja in the 10th and 42nd minute respectively. The 22 year old benefitted from a Freddy Guarin cross which he latched unto to extend Inter's lead, after Coutinho had opened scoring.

Joel had never scored for Inter Milan prior to this game, but he showed no signs of nerves as he exhibited great composure in placing his shot into Sasa Stamenkovic's net, after Guarín had ran onto Coutinho's lay-off, and streaked down the right flank before squaring for Joel.

Despite a resurgent performance from the hosts in the second half, all they could get was a consolatory goal scored by Nicolas Canales in the 53rd minute.

I like Obi's work rate and ethics on the field. His partnership with Mikel in the midfield is not so superb. I prefer him to play with Ogude. He understands Fengor Ogude more because FENGOR is a ball winner and allows him to make runs upfront. But Mikel is not a ball winner. I will like to see him play with Obiorah Nwankwo though.

Where is Contro B, Ken Gadd, Kunle, Stanlee, LUISEHERO, TOLUWASE, SOCCER PROF etc. i MISS YOUR INPUTS HERE OOOO.

You can even write your own short article on Obi's first goal without photocopying other writers. Thanks
