Josephs bullish ahead of Tuks match

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs bullish ahead of University of Pretoria match

Posted: 3 October 2012 Time: 08:03 am

With many concerned after Orlando Pirates' loss to Bloemfontein Celtic at the weekend, Moeneeb Josephs says it is way too early to write Bucs out of the title race.

Pirates are fourth on the table, six points behind log leaders Kaizer Chiefs, and will hope to make up some ground away at University of Pretoria on Sunday.

AmaTuks are no pushovers, however – in their rookie season in the Premiership the Steve Barker-led side are yet to lose a match.

What is your score prediction for Tuks vs Bucs? Let us know on Twitter @KickOffmagazine!

"We have one objective for this weekend and that is to collect three points," Josephs tells Pirates' official website.

"It is quite premature to assume that all is lost with just six matches played. Granted, we haven't made the best of starts but to suggest that we are out of the title race is a misguided assumption.

"We have to collect maximum points against Tuks and this is how it is. We have experienced players who have been in this game for a very long time they know what is required of them over the weekend," Josephs asserts.

We are used to 13 points gap each season,6 points in nothing.

Fact,Bucs has been here before and came back strong to reclaim what is ours...the League and this season is no different

Ask all PSL pretenders, they will tell u including Chiefs

El Kampion, well good luck to that broer. Only the end of the season will reveal that. As long as Benni is still out, I don't see your team being consistant Chief. But anyway this is soccer and the ball rolls broer. Me I just wanna reclaim what's ours. Its fine you can keep the trophy of the drunken masters, Carling Black Label. Hawuweeeeeeeng banna!!!

Playing 4 6 0 would take orlando pirates anywhere. The first half of the game between pirates and celtics, pirates started with no strikers. Introduced them in the second half. Most games are won in the first half and you consolidate the gains in the second half. Roger is bereft of ideas. He thinks by not losing games you are doing well. How can he play only defenders. What were Pirates defending. a 0 - 0 score line? His dyas are numbered. I rather watch a game where we lose 8-7 rather than play to a 0 - 0 or lose 1-0. Soccer is about fun and showing your opponents that you are better than them. It is not about stopping someone to win or play his bet game. We still have a long way to learn. Hence 200 family members attending supersport or Platinum stars games. They would not fill the Bafokeng stadium in our life time.

@Mr Editor, I could not log in the morning. Please don't kick us off. We enjoy soccer here!

Let me explain the difference here, Chiefs are winning their matches with healthy goal margins, Pirates are not winning consistantly let alone scoring enough goals. How is Chiefs's good start to the league give Pirates the edge to win. Chiefs is delivering and Pirates is promising to deliver.
