Dikgacoi sits out for Palace

Kagisho Dikgacoi sits out for Crystal Palace ahead of Bafana Bafana matches

The Gordon Igesund injury jinx looks to have struck again, as Kagisho Dikgacoi was forced to sit out of Crystal Palace's 2-1 English Championship win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder has been included the Bafana Bafana squad to face Poland and Kenya later this month, but picked up a side strain ahead of the game and did not play.

Although 'KG' took to Twitter to suggest the injury was not too serious and that he was merely "rested", it will be a concern for Igesund, whose tenure as Bafana boss has so far been categorised by his squad's seemingly endless injury problems.

The victory did move Palace up into the play-off positions and just three points off top spot. Although it is early in the season, they do look as though they will be in the promotion mix this campaign, which could see a return to the Premiership for Dikgacoi next season.

It has been a poor couple of weeks for left-back Kgosi Ntlhe, who was left out of the starting line-up against for Peterborough United on Tuesday and has also been dropped by Igesund for Bafana.

Peterborough won their second game on the bounce with a 2-1 success at Barnsley, their change in fortunes coinciding with Ntlhe’s axing.

Dean Furman played for Oldham Athletic as they won 2-0 away to Crewe yesterday to move out of the relegation places in League One.
