Maruping blow for Tuks

University of Pretoria without midfielder Mpho Maruping for at least six months

University of Pretoria could be without their star midfielder Mpho Maruping for at least six months because of injury.

The 21-year-old has played a pivotal role to the great start AmaTuks have enjoyed in their maiden Premiership season, but this has been marred by Maruping's knee injury and Tuks coach Steve Barker fears Maruping could be out for six months.

He will know his fate this week when a second magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan is performed this week.

"He did an MRI scan last week and he will see another doctor on Thursday. It looks like it could be six months, but we will know for sure by the end of the week," Barker tells KickOff.com.

Maruping was injured on September 25 in a clash with Platinum Stars at Tuks Stadium after falling awkwardly.

Get well mfana. Anyway, all the players did a demolition job against Ajax are available. This boy was not in the team. Some opponents are advised to continue to fear.
