Ghana name squad for Malawi clash

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has named a 21-man squad to face Malawi

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has named a 21-man squad which includes two new call-ups for the return fixture against Malawi in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Espanyol's Mubarak Wakaso and Asante Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei have both been handed their first senior invitations for the game in Lilongwe on October 13.

A host of stars make a return to the squad as Ghana seeks to qualify for next year's finals in South Africa after winning the first leg 2-0 at home last month.

John Paintsil leads the quintet of players making a return to the squad after his last outing for the national team came in March this year. Also returning to the Black Stars are David Addy, Jonathan Mensah, Rabiu Mohammed and goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy.

The Black Stars will camp in Kenya before travelling to Malawi for the game.

Midfielders: Anthony Annan (Osasuna, Spain), Daniel Nii Adjei (Asante Kotoko), Mubarak Wakaso (Espanyol, Spain), Emmanuel Agyemang Badu (Udinese, Italy), Kwadwo Asamoah (Juventus, Italy), Christian Atsu (Porto, Portugal), Solomon Asante (Berekum Chelsea), Andre Ayew (Marseille, France), Rabiu Mohammed (Evian, France)
