Don't miss: Are fines enough for hooligan fans?
Sundowns fans stormed the pitch following the team's loss to Moroka Swallows at the weekend, and had to be brought under control by police and club management.
In a statement on their official website, Sundowns reveal that the club is looking into identifying the supporters responsible, in order to take action against them.
"The club wishes to state that this behaviour is not acceptable from any soccer fan, and applauds the fans who tried to stop such behaviour, which indicated that not all fans share the sentiments of this minority," the statement says.
"The club will try to identify the fans responsible, and to take appropriate action against them. The club remains committed to rooting out hooliganism in soccer."
Sundowns also addresses the issue of under-fire coach Johan Neeskens: "The club also wishes to state that the issue of whether the coach stays with the club is a hypothetical question, as the tenure of the coach was never discussed by the club."
