Bafana confirm double date

Bafana to face Poland and Kenya in October

Posted: 26 September 2012 Time: 09:15 pm

The South African Football Association has confirmed friendlies for Bafana Bafana next month against Poland and Kenya.

Rumours were rife that the Poland game might be scrapped in favour of another African encounter, and coach Gordon Igesund admits that was the initial idea, but for a lack of available opponents.

“Initially I felt it was prudent to play African opposition considering we will be playing in the Afcon tournament in four months’ time,” he said. “But after seeing the opposition available, I decided Poland was the best option.

“Most of the top African teams are involved in the 2013 Afcon qualifiers, therefore we had no tough opponents to play against.

“We need to play strong opposition so we can be tested thoroughly; therefore after considering all options which we had, I have no doubt in my mind that Poland will give us the test that we require.”

Bafana will face Poland in Warsaw on October 12, and face Kenya in Nairobi four days later.

Poland and Kenya - this reminds me of when we played the likes of Guatemala before the world cup. And we all know how that penned out when we were put to the test.

Khosi till Sunflops wins something. Till Paraffin FC fans admit that the midget is not Bafana material.

Actually when are we going to play Morocco, Argentina or Holland? It seems like we are recycling opponents just like Gorilla fc recycling 'used to be' players like Mbesuma and Mark Henry...

Looks like some people just comment for the sake of commenting. Do they really know why we have to play Porland and Kenya or they just blatantly being ignorant?People need to start using their brains instead of their heads and also they need to start reading that will help to eliminate the ignorance factor faster!!

After those two games, the headline will read :"Bafana gets double defeat". And the mediocres will continue to praise Igesund for coming close to winning, but being unlucky to lose to Kenya due to hot conditions in Mombasa.

Poland is not a bad team. They have some world class players who can test us.

BTW, why are these rats faithfools disgruntled with GI? Is it because he doesnt see any quality in their midgets?

KC4L till King admits that those midgets are average players

Remember one thing Pierats morons, GI is the national coach, so he does not need to pick your midgets.

One more thing, these games were set in stone before GI was hired

Eish these Mice. Evrytime u see thier comments you think they support a decent football team. If you watch their games u see quite a mediocre team. Poor control, pumping the ball forward no decent passes, missing seaters. Maar why these people support such a thing passionately ? Is it becoz of history? Nway rats will always be rats. Pea brain.
