Shabba dedicates goal to sister

Siphiwe Tshabalala relieved to score first goal for Kaizer Chiefs this season

Posted: 21 September 2012 Time: 03:39 pm

Siphiwe Tshabalala scored his first goal of the season against Black Leopards on Wednesday, and says he is relieved it has finally come.

Chiefs beat Leopards 2-1 in a replayed League match on Wednesday. Their next match is against Bidvest Wits on Monday at Mbombela Stadium.

"I am delighted to have scored my first goal of the season," 'Shabba' tells Chiefs official website. "Sometimes you wonder when the goal is going to come and I am glad it finally did.

"I always aim to score more goals in a season, but then again, for me the team's success is more important than individual goals. I am happy to create or make a contribution as long as we get maximum points."

Tshabalala tells the club's website that he dedicated the goal to his younger sister Nompumelelo, who celebrated her birthday on matchday: "She turned 14 and despite being younger has been a pillar of strength in the family.

"This week is an important one for us as it is my late mum's birthday on Friday [September 21]. My mum was a massive fan of the club."

With no MTN8 to worry about this weekend, the 27-year-old says his teammates are thoroughly focused on the match against the Clever Boys.

"With the Leopards game out of the way, we are now focusing on Bidvest Wits," he says. "They have strengthened the team and will prove tough but then again if you want to win things you should be prepared to beat anyone.

"We are going to Nelspruit with a positive attitude."

You didn't even celebrate the goal coz you knew it was corrupt even more than your coach's CV, but you have the guts to come here tell the stupid chimpanzees you dedicated to your sister.Your sister also needs to be investigated coz she saw that the goal was illegitimate but still accept it to be dedicated to her just like Daniel Bennet wearing Black & Gold underpants supplied by Selina.

Khosi lami Shabba should be a team player and not play becuase he want to dedicate a goal for his younger sister . I don't know but recently I've noticed that he's a bit selfish and that could be pricey as we're challenging the ABSA championship this season.

@ Gucci

I fully agree with you Khosi lami....Shabba knows that we expect more from him and I hope this will help him up his game on Monday..He should know that this season we have The ParkerNkatha combination to finish off the opponent and he must distribute that ball...we need more assists from him...I think we will see the Shabba we know on Monday against Wits.
