Manager keeps faith in Arsenal's Aneke

Crewe Alexandria aim to extend the loan spell of Nigerian youngster Chuks Aneke from Arsenal

Crewe Alexandria aim to extend the loan spell of Nigerian youngster Chuks Aneke from Arsenal despite his suspension.

The 19-year old midfielder recently joined League One side Crewe Alexandra on a one-month loan deal in order to get more playing time which he is not guaranteed at Arsenal, but the short term loan deal is not going as planned for Chuks as he is currently serving a three match ban after being sent off last weekend.

Crewe boss Steve Davis is however keen to extend the loan deal of Arsenal midfielder.

"We are now without Chuks for three games and it is disappointing because we are short of midfield players," Davis told Crewe's official website. "It is also disappointing for Chuks because he wanted to come here and show everyone the ability he has.

"He wants to play and we will discuss about extending his loan or not when the time comes. We haven't made a decision yet and I will contact (assistant manager) Steve Bould at Arsenal and discuss things. He would have seen the challenge and know that he isn't that sort of player.

"Chuks has ability and it is a shame that he hasn't been able to have the impact he would have wanted because of his three-match suspension."

Aneke had been hoping to make a big impact at Crewe, and will be encouraged by the manager's faith in him. Upon completing the loan deal, he said:

“I can’t wait to get some of the game time I haven’t really had enough of in my career so far. It will be a learning curve, but hopefully another step in my development.”

Since he has chosen England over us, we don't need stories of Chuks Aneke here. Good luck boy, go and wait for your English chance. When you decide to do the Victor Moses and ball for Naija, holla at your peeps and we got you. Until then peace out or piss off
