In simple terms, the match is a new encounter since there were no dismissals 32 minutes into the first half, when it was abandoned after the pitch was covered in hail and therefore deemed unsafe and unplayable.
Chiefs were leading 2-0 at the time through goals by Bernard Parker and Kingston Nkhatha, but all that will count for nothing as Rule 8.14 now kicks in.
"According to Rule 8.14 of the National Soccer League Rules, if a match is abandoned through weather or the state of the pitch, the League will set another date on which the match will be played," the PSL confirms in a statement.
"All records of an abandoned match will be expunged except dismissals incurred."
The fixture will be replayed on Wednesday, September 19, at 8.15pm, at the same venue.

At chiefs, we don't need amapenalt from Refs to score a goal and win with narrow escape the game.
At Chiefs,we don't wait for an opponent to be given a red card to claim victories.
At chiefs we don't send brown envelop to bribe Refs to demand win.
At Chiefs, we don't care about their Rule 8.14 because we do things personal.
Come Wednesday, rats, ndunu and leopards will be given then right medication to lower down their madness.
Pirates suffered their 100th defeat at the hands of Moroka Swallows on a fortnight ago, while Chiefs have yet to reach that mark having started this League campaign unbeaten.
They currently lead the all-time points tally for the PSL, with Mamelodi Sundowns in third on 888. Some way behind them are SuperSport United with 786.
