Igesund pleads for calm

Gordon Igesund has asked the nation to be patient as he tries to build a strong Bafana side

Gordon Igesund has asked the nation to be patient as he tries to build a strong Bafana Bafana side that will take on every opponent at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Bafana Bafana coach led his side to a morale boosting 2-0 friendly win over Mozambique last night, which marked his first victory in only his second game in charge.

MATCH REPORT: South Africa 2 Mozambique 0

"My mission is to make this team a machine by 2013. I want them to have an identity and be sure about which direction they are heading into," Igesund said.

Much of the team's perennial habits occurred on Wednesday night at the Mbombela Stadium as Igesund's charges found the back of the net as early as the seventh minute of the match, but then went on to miss a host of scoring chances.

"I needed that early goal. The attitude of the players was fantastic. I could see that they wanted to score the second goal immediately after netting the first.

"I am pleased because they were very professional about their business tonight.

"Right now the players are scared to make mistakes. We had the Mozambicans under pressure but we missed some chances. We scored two goals and I am happy with that but I know that there could have been more," the four time PSL League-winning coach said.

"We elaborate in the wrong areas of the field sometimes. I would have loved to see the boys camp more inside their [Mozambique] big box but that is something that we will be working out."

What you preaching is totally different to what you practicing Mr GI. I n short you are just a confused hypocrite.

You are saying many things that contradict each other.......you talked about "Form & Fit," but we still see the likes abo Bennie who is suspended and the likes abo uNyawane who is just from injury, Mokotjo who played his last game in April.

To me you a "White Pitso Mosimane."

@Gordon, you're a coach I respect. You've made wrong moves before, by joining gorilla and his gal banana fc and they both fired you for being successful. You're a players coach and tha future looks bright indeed for you and boys. Operation 3 rounds in full swing.

Some ppl complain because there's no Andile Jali,Manyisa,Teko Modise
These players did nothing for the national team .
So even if we win the AFCON next year they'll still be bitter becuase they want to see the "back-passer" Manyisa and Andile Jali and Shield smoker uTeko Modise ....

This Champ Marapo guy is very bitter neh..?

We must just ignore his farting just like Malema.

Great display coach and we know the team will turn the corner very soon. Now we have to beat Poland at their back-yard then we will be starting to look like a well oiled machine.

The truth is Gordon will try his best to include few gorillas 1 or 2 gorillas if we play against Botswana,Namibia,Lesotho and Malawi . That's why we saw Moeneeph Josephs between the poles last night.
You cannot expect Moeneeph Josephs between the poles when we play teams like Spain,Brazil,Italy, Germany,USA,Russia. That's the FACT.....and I'm glad Josephs knows that very well.

Its just that there's few gorilla faces are not happy about that reality.
Whoever expects Manyisa in our national team at the moment , then hé/she must be smoking something really toxic

Gordon, I am still waiting patiently to see the attacking approach you promised us, and remember that you were playing Mozambique's Second team............imagine what would have happened if Elias Pelembe was there...............Thank God that Mozambique could not use their strongest team last night coz they just played last Sunday.........You defence is good but that Midfield of yours lacks naturally talented players who can make supporters stand on their feel cheering the whole duration of the game............. Fix that midfield and stop unfairly discriminating against certain on form players on your selections........If you don't know anymore what entertaining football is, Join me and other football lovers at Dobsonville on friday night and enjoy the real entertainment from the Beautiful Birds coz they know exactly how to..............Up the Birds

The Gorrila fans must admit they don't have any quality player in their team except Sangweni. Dom-Kat was saved by Fransman from becoming a moemish of the month. They are bitter because Igesund don't recognize the midget to be quality players, unlike Pitso who was afraid of the toothless one.

Oh my God, here are Pitso's tendencies again. Now they come from GI.

Pitso promised us a mention & pleaded for calm but he didn't even build us a shack. He talk vision 2014 & you talk AFCON 2013, same difference.

You will never have a mean machine by next year as long as you fail to field young, hungry talented players or get scared to sub the likes of Nyawana or Yeye early.

What has the BB furniture like Yeye, Nyawana, Gaxa et al really done for BB?

Is Furman really the best BB can have from oorkant? Is he better than what we have? I was told he is an attacking player but I am yet to see those attributes, I only saw a Khuboni clone.

What is the formation that BB is playing? I am confused. I am yet to know what is the role of the likes of Serero or Shabangu in your formation. I only see guts (defending) from them but not tactical delivery for a system & deliverables which are to attack the opposition. They create no opportunities for the team. Very soon like Pitso, you will be asking us to give you a name of a striker.

Players who are scared to make mistakes do not deserve to play for BB hence I argued for class which comes with arrogance & belief in 1ns ability instead of fitness & form which are not permanent.

As long as old, failed components are used in your stupid machine, it won't even run a mile. May I also remind you that you said you "know the task at hand" so deliver instead or making excuses.

Bobby's dogs, migodoyi ndini......,, you are allowed to celebrate mediocrity because that is your nature..! Please allow us the Double treble Champions (DTC) to wait until we see the real quality at Bafana that deserve celebrating. As for now continue embracing nothing we will join you later..!!!

You did the same when SAFA recalled Perreira while thina we where objective.

You did the same when Pitso was hired un-opposed while thina we question issues of merit.

You did the same when where eliminated in the 2010WC, u celebrated Shabbas value less goal, while we question Shabba's overrall contribution which Castrol ratings agreed with us.

You did the same in the Confederations when we lost to Brasil, saying we tried and u went on to celebrate Mphelas goal.

Again u are in defence of players who have failed us dismally before, if Shabba cannot dominate the Mambas under 20, who will he dominate.

U are blindly supporting Gordon, he talks about 2013 as if its in 3 years time, not realising its around the corner, if u have to risk, u must risk now.

Clearly the team he is putting together cannot compete in the afcon.

So Chiefs fans continue praising mediocrity at our country's expense

We MaBacunneer will always highlight weaknesses when we see them and not lick Gordon's behinds like Macowsi does. Yes, we support Gordon but we are not just going to go blind about issues because our players were selected or fielded. !

We wish Gordon success but we willl always raise issues when necessary whether Macowsi like it or not. This is our national team..!!
