Nigerian midfielder Solomon Okpako remains holed up in the country, training with SuperSport United after he was handed his clearance by Mamelodi Sundowns last week following the termination of his contract just before the closure of the transfer window.
Okpako had been transfer-listed at Sundowns to open up foreign space after battling for game-time during the one year that he spent at Chloorkop.
Mohammed Lawal, who represents Okpako, says the 22-year-old midfielder is training with SuperSport for now.
“What has happened is that Okpako now has his clearance and is a free agent and able to sign for any team at any time," he tells KickOff.com.
"For now he is at SuperSport because he needs to be training. It is important that he keeps fit and that is why he is there. In the meantime we are exploring other options because he is a good player,” says Okpako.
Prior to his release from Sundowns, Okpako was already training with the Sundowns reserves.
