Igesund names Bafana Bafana starting line-up

Posted: 7 September 2012 Time: 06:24 pm

Gordon Igesund has named his first official starting line-up as Bafana Bafana coach and has stuck by his attacking intentions.

The national team will adopt a 4-3-3 formation to begin with in the friendly against Brazil, as Thulani Serero, Lerato Chabangu and Dino Ndlovu have been entrusted as the forward line.

Kagisho Dikgacoi will be the defensive midfielder in the centre of the park, with Dean Furman and Siphiwe Tshabalala granted attacking license.

In defence, Siboniso Gaxa and Punch Masenamela will operate as the full backs, with Bongani Khumalo, who has been appointed captain for the clash, partnering Siyabonga Sangweni in the middle.

Itumeleng Khune, who’s distribution will be key against the Brazilians, will don the gloves.

All the players will be allowed to sit on the bench, with Igesund afforded six substitutes.

Not bad at all though l would have prefered Parker for Chabangu, who is not bad either. I would also prefered May as a play maker but hey substitute does exist, besides its for this reason the selected players will prove their worth. Toninght l am fully behind the boys

Cowxa is a bara-man mmuuuuuuu but he chose him ahead of the lyks of Matlaba.

Icowsend wil never save us, infact he is taking us into deep deep trouble...the day Icowsend realise that the national team is not Swallows is the day we the fans or sapotas wil be reliving him of his duties. this first game against Brazil wil serve as his first verbal warning...next game against Mozambique we turn physical, nxa
