Siyanda Xulu is not the only new face at FC Rostov – he has been joined at the Russian club by no other than former England international David Bentley.
The 28-year-old has joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur, where his career has gone into rapid decline.
Rated one of the English game’s best young talents when he burst onto the scene for Arsenal in 2004, the talented midfielder’s stock have dropped at some rate in recent times.
Signed by Spurs for £15million in 2008, he made just 24 starts for the club before unsuccessful loan spells at Birmingham City and West Ham United.
Now the man tipped to become David Beckham’s successor will be hoping to rescue a fading career – and Xulu could play a significant role in that.

Selina Dladla (50), the mother of the Kaizer Chiefs’ midfielder, has been charged with theft.
She was stopped by a security guard outside Woolworths in Woodmead, Joburg.
It is alleged that she took pyjamas, panties, two bras, tights and dried fruit and stuffed them in her large handbag.
She was taken to the Morningside Police Station where she was released on police bail of R500.
In court Selina was dressed in a white polo neck, black jacket and jeans and accompanied by two family members.
She was in tears as she spoke to her lawyer.
One of the family members was heard saying that he didn’t understand why the guard waited until she was outside the store before stopping her as the things she was carrying were still on hangers.
Yesterday Daily Sun broke the story but could not name the woman until she appeared in court.
A source said security stopped her as she was leaving the store. “She was taken to the storeroom while they waited for the cops,” she said.
Selina is set to appear in court again on 3 October.
On Tuesday when asked for comment, Josta said it was a private matter and he was not going to discuss his mum in public.
