Steven Pienaar's withdrawal from the national team over a thigh strain has meant the armband is up for grabs in the friendly. Siphiwe Tshabalala was the vice captain under Pitso Mosimane, but that does not automatically mean he will skipper the side.
"We have so many leaders in this team that it is actually a tough choice to make, but this is so good for us because it means we have strong players in the squad," says Igesund.
Bongani Khumalo has been mentioned as an option, with his former coach Gavin Hunt having waxed lyrical about the defender's leadership abilities.
Kagisho Dikgacoi is another very strong candidate for the armband, as he must already dictate an important part of the team's play.
Igesund has no shortage of senior players to accept responsibility on Friday, regardless of the armband.
Benni McCarthy has already been guiding the younger players in the squad, while Moeneeb Josephs has been providing energy, encouragement and support for the new faces.

He ( coach) has been flanked by bongani and Shabba - but he keeps telling us about headache of choosing a captain. Voetsek , Gorden.
Let him go there and getting a heavy score - I'm not even going to welcome them at Airport ( my work place ).
Wear it with pride and courage young man.
I meant a captain my man. It is GI fault that I made a mistake, he talks too much but will be delivering very little today.
But if I were to choose I would say....Thabo Matlaba would be a great captain
Truely speaking "blacklabel" has taken its toll on Lerato
Selina Dladla (50), the mother of the Kaizer Chiefs’ midfielder, has been charged with theft.
She was stopped by a security guard outside Woolworths in Woodmead, Joburg.
It is alleged that she took pyjamas, panties, two bras, tights and dried fruit and stuffed them in her large handbag.
She was taken to the Morningside Police Station where she was released on police bail of R500.
In court Selina was dressed in a white polo neck, black jacket and jeans and accompanied by two family members.
She was in tears as she spoke to her lawyer.
One of the family members was heard saying that he didn’t understand why the guard waited until she was outside the store before stopping her as the things she was carrying were still on hangers.
Yesterday Daily Sun broke the story but could not name the woman until she appeared in court.
A source said security stopped her as she was leaving the store. “She was taken to the storeroom while they waited for the cops,” she said.
Selina is set to appear in court again on 3 October.
On Tuesday when asked for comment, Josta said it was a private matter and he was not going to discuss his mum in public.
