The Racing Genk man was part of Gordon Igesund’s squad to face Brazil and Mozambique, but had to withdraw after picking up the knock while playing for his club. He has been replaced by Siboniso Gaxa.
“It’s still sore, but luckily I’ve been told that there is no need for an operation,” Ngcongca tells KickOff.com. “The club’s medical team said I will be out for six weeks.”
Ngcongca says he is said to miss tomorrow’s high-profile game against Brazil.
“I feel sad to miss a game like that; I was really looking forward to it, but ja … football is full of surprises,” he says.
“I wish the guys all the best. They must go out there and enjoy the game and I know they can do it against the powerful Brazil side.”
