The Zimbabwean international has been on trial at newly-promoted Bundesliga side Greuther Furth (not Nuremburg as has been reported) and has made quite the impression.
The club’s chairman, Helmut Hack, was sent a DVD of the player in action and immediately liked what he saw.
In fact, Hack wanted to travel to South Africa to watch Sundowns against Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8, but was advised against it based on the fact that Mushekwi was unlikely to play the whole match. It turned out to be sound advice as the Zimbabwean came on with just 30 minutes to play.
But Mushekwi did enough during his time on trial to prompt the Germans to meet The Brazilians’ valuation of the player, around the €1million (R10million) mark, KickOff.com has learnt.
He is expected back in South Africa tonight after completing a medical before completing his move to the Bundesliga.
