Swallows conceded three goals against Platinum Stars during their 3-1 loss in a League match, and another three against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 first leg semi-finals.
With his side hosting Ajax Cape Town before their MTN8 semi-final second leg against Sundowns at Dobsonville on Sunday, Marques says he is not worried about his defence at all.
“We have not conceded goals from build-ups, but rather from set-pieces,” he explains.
However, Marques says his side must start collecting points now – starting with Ajax – if they want to match last season’s heroics, when they finished as runners-up.
“We have to focus on every game; every match has its own story to write,” he adds. “We spoke as a team and we want to do well on every front. But for now our focus is only on Ajax; we want to pick up three points.”
Meanwhile, Ajax coach Maarten Stekelenberg is expecting an open game against the Dube Birds.
“Swallows have a lot of players that can score out of nothing, but we also have those type of players, guys like [Terror] Fanteni and [Khama] Billiat – players who can score out of nothing.”
Ajax will be without first-choice goalie Sander Westerveld for the match against Swallows because of an ankle injury sustained in the first League game against SuperSport United.

How can you possible get 60 points if your defence is still letting in silly goals? Your head is not right baba. What you saying is foolish and absurd!
