Rantie on cloud 9 after hat-trick

Tokelo Rantie interview after hat-trick for Malmo in Sweden

Posted: 21 August 2012 Time: 02:28 pm

Tokelo Rantie admits that he misses Orlando Pirates, but is hoping that the hat-trick he scored for Malmo FF is the beginning of great things to come in his overseas career.

Rantie, who was on loan at Bucs last season, stole the headlines when he scored three goals in extra time to help Malmo defeat Sandviken 6-3 in the Swedish Cup yesterday.

The Bafana Bafana striker is on loan to Malmo from another Swedish side, IFK Hassleholm.

Speaking to KickOff.com from Sweden this morning, Rantie says he will have to keep scoring.

"It was a great feeling to score three goals for my club yesterday," he says "I was happy to be on the scoresheet; that will only help boost my confidence.

"I'm very happy that I've been given the opportunity to play and I'm grateful for that ... I really want to thank my teammates for the support they gave me throughout the game.

"I'm glad that I repaid the coach's faith in me with a hat-trick – I will just have to continue doing that!"

The Free State-born striker also confesses that he misses Pirates, but says life goes on.

"I do miss Orlando Pirates and the club will always have a special place in my heart," he says.

"I would have loved to continue playing for them but things couldn't go according to my wishes.

"However, I am glad that now I am back in Sweden and I want to help my new team achieve success this season."

Rantie...i am really sori for forcing Leal and Palacious to play you coz now i can see why they so much prefered to play Mabena instead of you. If it wasn't of me my Champ you would be in the black, white and red with a crossbone badge with a star on top colours.

Anyway, Once a Pirate Always a Pirate.

How much did they pay for Ntofontofo or maybe his annual salary?

I wont be surprised if it is 2million RANDS...

They are saying their chairman is business minded by letting go of this young prospect and getting MbeSUMO Wrestler instead...#SMH#

Chibuku fans should just let go, the boy is not their product. So pls spare us the junk u want to feed to us. His star is rising, and u will never afford in six months time. Just wait until he's 35yrs then u can have him. That's why all the media houses are refering to him as SA product, not Chibukus.

Feelosopher (The Balotelli of Kick Off.com): Do u know what where the conditions of his loan move to Pirates, Do you have an idea why Chiefs rejected him and his mentor took him to Pirates.

Even today, no one knows the insight of the deal yet people cast numbers around R2MILLION, even Marawa tried to play safe on this one.

The nice part about this is, Pirates paved this way for this boy and he is proud of Pirates and stil wish to play there.

Malmo has been given a loan deal with the option to buy outright but Rantie will tell them he is home sick at the end of his contract and walla, Pirates wins yet again.
