Orlando Pirates coach Augusto Palacios blames the lack of goals to poor shooting

Orlando Pirates coach Augusto Palacios blames the lack of goals from the Mighty Buccaneers to poor shooting.

Pirates have scored 3 goals in 3 games so far this season. They also failed to score in the goalless MTN8 semi-final against SuperSport United played at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Palacios however is confident his side will start scoring goals soon.

"We controlled the game against SuperSport United and they only relied on counter attacks. We created many goal scoring opportunities with Matlaba, Mbuyane and Benni missing the chances we created," says Njenje.

"I believe our downfall has been our pour finishing. In football if you can’t put the ball in the back of the net you can’t win matches. We will continue working until we get it right," he adds.

Palacios says they are still waiting for Zimbabwean striker Takesure Chinyama’s work permit to be sorted out. Chinyama was signed by Bucs last month.

The coach says he will remain patient with Collins Mbesuma after handing him his debut in Polokwane yesterday.

"Mbesuma is a very good player but we need to be patient with him so that he can adjust to the style of play of the team."

SuperSport and Pirates will meet again in the League game at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday before the MTN8 semi-final second leg at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

Pirates will camp in Limpopo until Wednesday and return back to Johannesburg on Thursday.

I have said it before & I'll always say it again. 4 Players at Pirates, they can't control their Frustrations of not Winning a Game. Lucky Lwgwathi, Andile Jali, Benni Mcarthy & Rooi (The Balls Killer) Mahamutsa. Professional Football is about 2 B Professional.

What shooting is njenje referring to? I only remember makola's shot that was saved, and that free kick fluffed by pumba. Palacios should simply say they were poor, non existent shooting. Manti is a cheat! Benny pumba is a bully! That fool mahamutsa must leave pirates. Ohoo 3 goals in three matches? I foresee trouble ka pirates.

How long will Njenje know that South American football does not work here in Mzatsi. What shooting is he
mourning about? His team cannot even play as one unit?? I see Pirates winning the league with another caretaker coach.

They said Mbesuma, now is Chinyama, and who is next ntate palacious? anyway you still have two chances to proof yourself against Matsatsantsa, and should you fail to win one of them, you will find yourself @ development again.

@Mk-Mjukutya We share the same sentiments. Not once but many times i have realised that Pierats players behave like it is their birth right to win every game even if they are not the good side on the day.

Khoza should deal with this kind of situations before it gets out of control. If you remember what Vilakazi, Okwonko and Mgomeni you will remember what i'm talking about.

Football is a game of two halfs. Players should always be proffessional at all times.

That Matlaba is greedy, if we ever get knocked out in this competition, he must take the blame. He thinks he plays alone. He has the tendency to do all the right things but then his final decision is extremely poor. That's Mahamutsa, never liked him, a traditional old fashioned defender who still believes that by kicking the ball to the winds time. As for Mbuyane, no wonder be played with a 10-men SS and there was never any difference because he cones to the party occasionally but absent for the rest of the game, substitue material.

As for Palacios, he is slowly digging his own grave, he thinks been at DTC for years gives him the right to patronize us with this hogwash. Where is Ndulula, is he ready than one we supposed to be patient with. Palacios is a hypocrite, with too many excuses, last I remember he mentioned tha Takesure was not yet at the clubs fitness level so is Okonkwo & they still need to adapt to our style of play. Funny, barely a week after signing Mbesuma he satisfies all these set criterias and with Takesure it is suddenly a work permit issue.

Mc Carthy's ineffectiveness is directly linked to Mbuyane's absence and inability to fill the void left by Rantie, I sometimes wonder where is this work rate many people see in this one except for scoring odd goals once in a while.

As for Matlaba, for his indiscretion, as a coach I will reward him by starting him at e bench, until he understands that this is DTC and here we play as a team, thi is not FS. Where was Phungwayo anyway.

TO all Super Chiefs supporters out there, please be warned, your team is coming to Orlando Sat night and there is no way they will survive. and how do you expect us to win games there (Peter Mokaba) when your A-Team manager is in involved in killing people for the very same venue, again you use a lot of muthi on that venue, (psl can give us the details)
